The Fremont Women Who Care are excited to welcome members and newcomers alike to their next quarterly meeting, scheduled for Wednesday, November 13th, from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM. This gathering will take place at the Fremont Center for the Arts located at 505 Macon Ave, Cañon City. In this event, our community will come together to make impactful decisions in support of Fremont County’s dedicated nonprofits.
About the Meeting Agenda
- Check-In and Networking
Members are encouraged to arrive a few minutes early to check in, collect nomination and voting slips, and spend some time connecting with other like-minded women who are passionate about local philanthropy. New members and guests are encouraged to introduce themselves and learn more about our mission. - Recipient Update from JJ's Helping Paws
Fremont Women Who Care will welcome representatives from JJ's Helping Paws, our August meeting's nonprofit recipient. They will share how the funds from our last meeting have made a difference in their ongoing mission to provide affordable veterinary care and spay/neuter services, helping to prevent homelessness and improve the lives of pets in Fremont County. - Nonprofit Nominations and Presentations
Members will nominate local nonprofits, with three organizations chosen at random to present their mission and needs. Each selected nonprofit representative will have an opportunity to share their story, discuss their community impact, and explain how Fremont Women Who Care’s support could help them achieve their goals. These nominations reflect our members' collective knowledge of local needs and community services, making this portion of the evening both inspiring and informative. - Voting and Selection
Following presentations, members will cast their votes for the nonprofit they feel would most benefit from our support this quarter. The organization with the most votes will receive a substantial donation from Fremont Women Who Care, which will be instrumental in funding essential programs, services, or expansion efforts within Fremont County.
New Policies to Enhance Meeting Efficiency and Fairness
The Steering Committee recently implemented several new guidelines aimed at creating a respectful, efficient, and equitable meeting environment. These updates include:
- Streamlined Check-In Process
Attendees will receive their nomination and voting slips upon check-in to ensure a smooth transition to the voting phase. - No Spontaneous Presentations
Nonprofit representatives who wish to share additional events or information are invited to bring fliers. These will be available at a designated table by the entrance for members to pick up as desired. - Host Nonprofit Eligibility
Any nonprofit hosting the meeting is now ineligible for selection as the primary donation recipient that evening, ensuring a fair chance for all nominees.
Open Invitation to New Members
As always, Fremont Women Who Care warmly welcomes new members who wish to join our community of women making a difference. If you know someone passionate about supporting local nonprofits, please invite them to join us on November 13th.
Looking Forward to a Successful Evening of Giving
This quarterly meeting promises to be an uplifting and purposeful evening filled with connection, inspiration, and the power of collective giving. Fremont Women Who Care is proud to foster a culture of kindness and generosity that strengthens our entire community. We look forward to seeing each of you there and to witnessing the incredible impact we can make together.
